2001 Isuzu GBX Concept
The Isuzu GBX
concept vehicle is designed to function as a Gear Box, a fun means of
transporting your equipment wherever you want to go, helping you do
whatever you want to do. The stagecoaches of the pioneering American
West, historical forerunners of today's utility vehicles, influence
GBX's styling. With the concept of the stagecoach influencing the
design, GBX embodies one vision of the SUV, driving our pioneering
dreams into the new century. GBX expresses the power to travel anywhere
in the great outdoors, as well as fun and sociability. While GBX is
designed to evoke a sense of pleasure, we also sought to remind people
that vehicles throughout history have been practical tools on which we
rely.
The third seats are removable and can be carried like suitcases. Front seats are cantilevered from the center console to permit underseat storage, A gear port built into the cargo gate allows easy access to small items in the cargo area while offering special features like tool storage and shelves for stowing outdoor equipment. The sides and rear of GBX are equipped with electrically operated drop steps. Other practical features include a cabin lamp that can be removed and used as a flashlight. And the instrument panel in the upper center console contains a futuristic see-through speedometer and tachometer.
