The Porsche C88 concept was developed by Weissach engineers in just four months especially for the Chinese market.
The model could be manufactured with simple production methods, while at the same time providing excellent quality and driving safety.
In the end, however, the Chinese authorities did not grant Porsche (or any other foreign manufacturer) permission to produce in China.

In China, 88 is considered a lucky number and so Porsche decided to
name the car the C88 and showcase it at the Beijing Auto Show.The model could be manufactured with simple production methods, while at the same time providing excellent quality and driving safety.
