1980 UM Electrek Electric Car

This is either a 1979 or 1980 Electrek. It was produced by Unique Mobility in Englewood, CO. The company is now located in Frederick, CO and trades under the symbol UQM. My friend designed the battery tunnel in this car. It has a 32 horsepower GE motor, 16 batteries. The drivetrain is a standard shift setup from a VW diesel rabbit. Other parts were taken from the VW Thing. They made a few hundred of these creampuffs.
