The B10 was popular with Japan’s "my car" generation. Even before its
launch in April 1966 it was a hot topic thanks to teaser ads and the
idea of asking the public to name it: "Sunny" was chosen out of 8.5
million entries.
It was conveniently priced (Deluxe: ¥460,000; Standard: ¥410,000) and within 5 months sales had topped 30,000 units.
The 4-door version was added the following year and the coupe a year later.
