Dare

UK.

Dare UK Limited was incorporated towards the end of 1990 by Trevers and Ivor Walklett (two of the four brothers who founded and ran Ginetta until the company was sold in 1989) and Trevers' son Mark, Ivor's son Thomas joined Dare UK in 2002.

Trevers, Ivor and latterly Mark were responsible for the design of all Ginettas up to the G33 and all Dare Models.
In February 1992, the worldwide manufacturing and sales rights for the Ginetta G4 all series and Ginetta G12 all series, including the use of the badge and names, were brought by a Japanese company, which had already been importing the G4 and G12 into Japan. Ginetta Cars continued to manufacture these models for them.
Unfortunately towards the end of 1992 Ginetta Cars, under its new management, went into receivership.
The demise of Ginetta Cars caused supply difficulties for the Japanese company, who then approached Dare UK to take over the manufacture of the G4 and G12.
To meet the quality standards required by Japanese buyers, both models were re-engineered by the Walkletts. The G4 and G12 are currently manufactured solely by Dare UK who funded all development, tooling and production as their contribution to this joint project.
