1980 Fiat Spider 2000

First sold in the US market in 1968.

General information.
The 124 Sport Spider is a two-seater convertible made by Fiat, introduced at the November 1966 Turin Auto Show, and manufactured until 1985. Most of the cars were exported to the US.
The body of the Spider remained unchanged for its entire production run, with little modification.
The model line ceased in 1985 after over 150,000 Spiders alone had been built. There were six models of Spider, the AS, BS, CS, CS1, CS2 and CS0.

History.
This is an original mile car that has been fully sorted and restored. Car spent its life in the Southwestern US, and was purchased from a private party in Reno, Nevada. At some point in the car's history, the original champaign anniversary paint was changed, and we believe, the badges removed as well.
When the car arrived, it was in remarkable condition, with no rust to be found anywhere. The incorrect paint was removed, and the car was resprayed in its original color, at a cost of nearly $5000. Interior surfaces that were sun damaged were replaced. New leather seats installed. Mechanicals were fully sorted, with new timing belt, brakes, shocks and suspension tuning. New tires (factory Pirelli) were also installed. This is a Bosch Fuel Injected Model.
While we can not represent this car as an anniversary model, it is clear to us that is its origin. To our knowledge, no champaign/tan cars with full leather interiors were ever sold that were not anniversary cars. At face value, it is an immaculate, low mile example, ready for the next loving owners attention.
Cosmetic Impressions.
This is about as close to new as one could reasonably expect. Paint and interior surfaces are impeccable. All key components have been freshened or replaced. New wood Isotta steering wheel is stunning. Top, and seats are brand new. Exhaust is obviously brand new as well. Car is ready to drive or show.
Driving Impressions.
Although restored, car is correct, and drives as one would expect. Vintage feel, with slower steering and leisurely handling. Engine performance is eager, with excellent fuel economy. Shifting is precise, with no engagement issues or concerns. Very solid overall.
